Exploring Natural Climate Solutions

February 27, 2020

We will explore the increased attention in bringing forth natural climate solutions as non-technological ways to reduce emissions and remove carbon pollution from the atmosphere through ecosystems like agriculture, forests, grasslands, and coastal wetlands. Together, this represents at least 30% of what is needed to keep climate change under two degrees C.

Predicting Climate Risk with Scenario Analysis

March 19, 2019

Wild fires in California, record cold temperatures in the Midwest, sunny day flooding in Miami. The impact and costs associated with a changing climate are already being felt by cities, businesses, and communities. We’ll address how companies are integrating the recommendations from the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and using scenario analysis as a tool to help manage climate risks and policy uncertainty.

Cities Shaping the Climate Agenda

January 10, 2019

Speakers will address the number of ways cities are driving the broader climate agenda, and how businesses, NGOS, and government can collaborate on these initiatives at the sub-national level. We'll hear from experts developing these plans locally in New York and New Jersey, and which cities we can look to as leaders globally. Through our speaker panel we'll hear from those implementing these ideas, and the ways the NYASG members can support these efforts.

We'll explore the future of automated buildings, efficiency tools, and ways to understand the true impact spaces have on the environment and people who occupy them. A layer beyond creating green buildings are the ways people engage with them and utilize the technology to achieve the maximum productivity while improving human health. Through our expert speaker panel we'll hear from those implementing these ideas today, and the ways the sustainability community can get on board.

Summer Soiree and Film: Lead & Copper

August 7, 2018

The documentary aims to artfully and accurately tell the story of exactly what happened in Flint, and inform its audience about the realities that many American communities will experience. The film engages diverse perspectives of the people who have lived through the crisis — from citizens who took a stand, to scientists who aided them, to local and state politicians.
